Bloom
Industrial Seas
£300.00
At first glance, Bloom appears vibrant. Bright neon yellows, suggesting the nightly bioluminescence that appears like an under water firework show, suggesting life flourishing beneath the waves. But this bloom is unnatural. Inspired by the toxic algal blooms triggered by pollution, and the Yangtze River, the most polluting river in the world, where their native dolphin is now extinct. This painting contrasts beauty with danger, abundance with imbalance. A reminder that not all growth is good, and that even nature’s most vibrant displays can be signs of distress.
